Seeing the notice of Denis's death in to-days's Irish Times, evoked a lot of memories - mostly of my childhood, visits with my parents to Ballybunion, playing" banking" in the tellers boxes in the National Bank in Listowel, on the eve of Patsy's wedding to Tom. Visits that Auntie Helen and Uncle Harry made every autumn when they stayed with us to play in the Dun Laoire Bridge Congress and the loud but good natured "post mortums" on each other's play!!
Finally, attending both funerals of Denis' parents in Tramore and sad to see his failing health at his mother's funeral.
May he rest in peace

Dear Dorothy, Denis and John,
I was really sad to hear that Uncle Denis passed away. The illness he suffered from was so cruel, but he was so lucky to have a wonderful family as you were to support and help him. I want to extend my sympathy to you all and hope in time that you will enjoy the wonderful memories that no doubt you have of him.
With very best wishes,
Helen, Joseph,Carol, Paul, Anna, David, Adam, Alfie Meehan and all our children
