Rest in peace. May God smile upon you for eternity. John, Holly and Danny you ate always in my prayers.

As a teacher, miss Hogan gave away free books to any student that were interested. I still have the two books she gave me as a senior year parting present. She had an effortless way of evoking laughter in the classroom while lecturing on the dry technicalities like comma splices and semicolons. Students knew she cared deeply about our individual progress and could easily tell that teaching was not a nine to five for her. Her job was sharing her passions about writing. Miss Hogan was the first teacher that taught me what a master’s level education would entail; and I am completing my own advanced education this year because she taught me I could. Miss Hogan was undoubtedly an exceptional educator and one of the most inspirational women I have had the honor of learning from.

Ms. Hogan was my mentor teacher during my student teaching. She was awesome. I'm so thankful for her guidance and support in helping me become a teacher. Not only did she make a difference in her student's lives she helped future teachers learn to do so.
