I just read this. Thinking of Jimmy Buffett and you Dawn, wow, have fun in Heaven with him. Fun to work with you at K&B Homes. RIP my friend.

Dawn lived life to the fullest, always pushing forward, no matter the risk. She very brave, and fought a long battle. Now she can rest, and have a drink on the beach for eternity. My loving thoughts are with her family, especially my friend, her daughter, Sally.

What I remember about my auntie dawnie. Owls, palm trees, flamingos and then turtles. Kind of like the stages of her life...Wild and wide eyed, swaying as she goes with the flow, standing on her own and then still on the go but taking it slow. She had rules of her own. Before she took us kids into a store we had to recite her rules. Don't touch anything, Don't ask for anything, If She was talking with another adult our mouths were shut. But she let me eat spoonfuls of peanut butter right from the jar. We kids all knew not to bother her during her TV show, but she let us stay up past our bedtime. Being sick wasn't allowed, but painting her car with multi colored hang ten bare feet was fine. Being different was o.k. with my auntie dawnie. Even encouraged. There were rules alright but what she taught me the most was that it was O.k. to be me. She taught me not to care what others think. She taught me how to be free to be me. Thank You auntie dawnie for showing us all how to love ourselves and each other without conditions. Thank You for Loving us the way we Love You. What do I remember about my auntie dawnie? Nothing but LOVE.
