David and I worked together when he first started at Allstate, along with four others of the same name in a department of about thirty, so by far the most common name. This David, however, was uncommon in his thirst for knowledge. While we never became close friends, I do remember his kind nature, even as a younger man in his twenties. Today I reflect on how young he is in his passing. I was one of just a handful of Allstaters David brought together after work one day in an attempt to start a rec football league which never came to be. Just that one day playing football after work is a fond memory I have thanks to David. The name David means beloved, so hang your head and weep if you must, but give equal time to smile and reflect on fond memories. David's legacy is his strong family, that he built, and his friends who surround them now in their time of deepest sorrow. My sympathy to you.

Dear Lori and the rest of your family,

Although you do not know me, I haven't been a part of David's life for many years, I met him when we went to nursery school together and grew up with him all the way through high school. Even though we never kept in touch, he is a part of my history and I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. I was at the service yesterday and was overwhelmed by the amount of people that came to honor him. Clearly, the wonderful boy that I knew grew into a wonderful man.

My heart and my prayers go out to you, the girls, and the rest of the family.

Yours,
Michel Guth

David was my baby cousin. I am the oldest of nine grandchildren and I can tell you that his life was too short, but very full.
