I was very disappointed to not be able to attend services in memory of my Uncle Dave last weekend. I have many fond memories of spending time with him and his family and hope to be able to attend any future ceremonies in his honor.

We wanted to let you know we were thinking if you Uncle Dave. So sorry we had to miss these days to honor you but due to 3 of us with the flu and terrible road conditions we weren't able to be there. I will remember your smile and joyous greeting at each holiday or special time we were together. We had alot of laughs and memories when we would travel to your and Aunt Joan's house. Hope you can now rest and you are rejoined with your parents, wife and son David.

Dear Regner Family,
Dave has been our friend for over 25 years. My husband, Jim and I had just seen him in the spring at a hospital function and were shocked to hear of his passing. That night we met his lovely new friend, Jo Ann. How blessed to find such a wonderful woman to share his life. That night, I believe is was April 2013, he looked as though he had found the fountain of youth. He was beaming and looked fantastic - as sharp as he was when we met. Over the years, we have enjoyed occasional dinners, his attendance at our son, Elliot's high school graduation, many community events and for many years, his company at our annual July 4 celebration when he was in town. We will miss this kind and generous man. Jo Ann, we are so sorry for your loss and that your time with Dave was so brief. I would like to get to know you and talk about this great man. With sympathy to Jo Ann and the Regner family. - Carol and Jim Brandt

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Senator David Regner. How fortunate we were to meet him more than a few times, enjoy his joviality and humor. His gift to our Department of Radiation Oncology will remain as a testament of his generosity to Northwest Community Hospital Radiation Oncology Department and we hope there will be members of his family in attendance when an area in our Department is designated now in his memory. The family can be very proud of him, his contributions in his work, life and generosity to many causes.
We extend our sympathies to his wife and members of his immediate family.
Drs. Lobo, Nigh and Mohideen.

How blessed Dave was to find Jo so late in life and to enjoy such love and devotion from this beautiful woman, even for such a cruelly short time. My love and deepest sympathy to Jo and the rest of Dave's family.

We have all been touched by Dave's genuine respect for all individuals and his always generous spirit. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. With kind regards,

Dave was a neighbor when we were in high school and lived on Luna Ave. in Chicago. I also remember roller skating at the old Riverview Roller Rink. He was a very good skater.
Lots of fun memories. I was delighted to read of all he accomplished in public service. I also remember Dave's dad, Joe who had the popular meat market on Cicero Ave. My condolences to all Dave's family. Joan O'Brien-Pottle.
