Dear Jackie and family,

My earliest memory of David was when he rollerbladed over to our house in 6th grade to bring our daughter a rose when he was "courting" her. She still has the rose and note...he was that special. May the dark clouds part and the sun shine when you remember all those special things about David.

Dear Randy, I've spoken to you several times on the phone but have never met you. I also had the pleasure of being a guest at Aqua Moon in 1990. Through the grapevine I heard of your tragic loss and wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Take care. Dori Zitek

Despite how confusing and upsetting the past few days have been and the next few will be, I have also spent a lot of time smiling to myself. Every memory I have of David makes me laugh. David was so loved by so many people. I had such respect and admiration for his outlook on life. His easy way with people was immediately endearing. He had that rare combination of a strong personality, charisma and charm. It always amazed me to watch him, whether he was performing with his band or just talking to someone on the street. It was truly difficult NOT to like him. Although it had been a while since I had seen him, my memories of good times with him seem so recent. In the years I knew David, he left a permanent mark on me. I know I'm one of many people who feel that way and for that I feel lucky. I'm going to miss him.
