I remember you when happy things happen in my life, and you're not there to share. and I remember you when sad things make me cry like today.
i wish and i hoped that things could have been different... that can never be... i will miss you forever... i will love you always and forever...

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility…
(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands
"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me on a level path."

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified... for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.

The Power of Hope
No matter what losses or misfortunes we experience, we cannot let hope die. We must keep it alive. Even when we are at the lowest point, where hope is reduced to the faintest breath – as thin as the thinnest piece of thread – we must keep it intact and keep it going. Because even then, hope possesses enormous power that transcends logic and reason. If we can keep hope alive, one day God will take that little bit of hope and bring it into our own resurrection. When we stay with it, hope has enormous power.
Lord, help us never to lose hope, but to trust hope and keep hope alive.
Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn’t permanent.
Our Lord fulfills His purpose for us.
Your Love, O Lord endures forever.
you are missed by many,

The Rose
Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you it's only seed.
It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking,
That never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin',
That never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely,
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love,
In the spring becomes the rose.
and from Galatians 5 and 6:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance……If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit…. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus…..The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.
I miss you, David, and I am thinking of you always. Peace be with you,

O Lord, You have searched me and know me. You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and are acquainted with all of my ways. Search me, O God, and know my heart.
And now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. And may God give you His peace -- in your going out and in your coming in -- in your lying down and in your rising up -- in your labor and in your leisure -- in your laughter and in your tears, as you stand with Jesus on this day in which there is no sunset and no dawning. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace, this day, and forever more. Amen and God Bless.

Come as you are,
Come and drink from the living water
That flowed from His hands, flowed from His side.
Come as you are,
Come and bathe in the healing water
Cleansing from sin, Releasing new life.
Draw near to Him,
And He’ll draw near to you.
He’s been waiting for you to call on His name.
So come, come as you are.
Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.... And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.... I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while, the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live.... Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled, and neither let them be afraid.”
“Do not be afraid, I am the first and the last. I am the living one; for I was dead and now I am alive for evermore. Because I live, you shall live also.... And God will wipe away tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.... And there will be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light; and they will reign for ever and ever.... Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.... They may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands." The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Almighty God, we commend to you now our grief in the death of David, trusting Your love and mercy toward our loved one. Cast out our sadness with your perfect Love. Heal our wounds, O God, and give us hope for the living of these days through our Lord Jesus Christ.
All thanks to God, who gives us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen.
Come as you are,
Come and drink from the living water
That flowed from His hands, flowed from His side.
Come as you are,
Come and bathe in the healing water
Cleansing from sin, Releasing new life.
Draw near to Him,
And He’ll draw near to you.
He’s been waiting for you to call on His name.
So come, come as you are.
Draw near to Him,
And He’ll draw near to you.
I miss you, David.

It has been a year now since David has left us. For those of you who have decided to come back and visit Davids guest book, I hope you re-read what his sisters have left here. They speak of a message I am sure David would want to tell you. It is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is knowing that you can be sure of where you will go after you have left this life. God has offered you a gift, while it is free, it cost Him the life of his son, Jesus. He died on the cross for each one of us. He took our sins on himself, not because he had to...but because he wanted to. The only thing it will cost you is your decision to accept Jesus as your savior. Many people look at the gift that God has given and say, "I beleive in God and Jesus, so what else is there." But you need to open the gift and accept it, trusting Jesus as savior and loving him as your Lord. You will never have a more important decision in your life to make. If you choose Jesus, you will never regret heaven.

In Honour of the Memory of my brother, David:
Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die….And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”
God of mercy and compassion: you have watched over David’s family and friends in the past year. Out of terrible tragedy you have brought goodness and grace to their lives. You have surrounded them with a sense of your present love and held them in faith. Though they are lost in grief, they found You and were comforted. They come to You today in worship to close their wounds and bind up their broken hearts. Guide them and all of us as we pray with You today, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who was dead, but lives and rules this world with You.
“Do not be afraid, I am the first and the last. I am the living one; for I was dead and now I am alive for evermore. Because I live, you shall live also….And God will wipe away tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away….And there will be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light; and they will reign for ever and ever….The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.”

Remembering my brother David
In the rising of the sun and in its going down, I remember you.
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, I remember you.
In the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of the spring, I remember you.
In the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer, I remember you.
In the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn, I remember you.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends, I remember you.
When I am weary and in need of strength, I remember you.
When I am lost and sick of heart, I remember you.
When I have special celebrations to share, I remember you.
As long as I live, you shall live too for you are part of me.

in honor of the memory of David, and our parents, and for all who have gone before us:
My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below.
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of that music can’t compare with the
Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it’s beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart,
But I’m not so far away, we really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me Dear Ones. You know I hold you dear,
And be glad for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent each of you a special gift from my heavenly home above,
I sent each of you a memory of my eternal undying love,
After all, Love is a special gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories that Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other as our Father said to do,
For I can’t count the blessings or the love He has for you,
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear,
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
with love and blessings,

Helen Keller
May the memories of your loved one live in your heart always.
Grief, like the ocean comes in waves, only to recede
and come yet again, but with it comes healing.
Memories awash ashore and are bathed by the golden sun.
Grab hold of those memories, and let them fill the emptiness.
May they bring you peace.
The Rite of Passage
by Vincent Marquis
Father, I once knelt before you piece by piece
in dire need to lean on you.
I prayed for you to fix me. You didn't.
I was still in pieces so I decided to fix myself.
I'm here, today before You,
My pieces all together, I made myself stand up again.
Thank you, Father, for giving me what I really needed;
the will at last, to cause myself to heal,
the courage to stand alone, and
the wisdom to know that I never was.
God bless.

In Memory of David
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life….Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you…. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid….This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

I too, am David's sister-in-law, not his sister (as stated in his obituary). Through the course of sorting all of this out, our family finally found David's sisters. They are remarkable women, and it's easy to understand why David was loved by so many people. They also possess the same fine qualities that he did. I know in my heart, David is in a better place, however, I miss him. I will always remember his gentle way, his bright smile and his sincerity. He was truly a special person. Thank you Joan, Barbara and Helen for sharing some of your memories with my family.

I just found out about David's death today, February 28. I am so shocked that I am almost at a loss for words, but in his memory, I will find a way to write something. I am deeply saddened. Bette and David were good, close friends for a long time. For a short while, our lives diverged and I only saw them occasionally. In 1996, I got engaged. I searched high and low, asking friends and checking phone listings, even as far as New Jersey, to try and locate them to invite them to celebrate my joy. I was not successful. Since then, I gradually came to believe they must have moved out of state.
Then today I hear about David's death. I feel cheated out of years of his friendship and companionship. David was a truly kind and gentle soul, with a great sense of humor.
And now I've run out of words. I am so sorry.

I am Davids sister-in-law. In his obituary it reads that I am his sister. He has three sisters, Joan, Barb and Helen. This information was left out. I did not agree with this and wanted to let everyone know that his three sisters had been left out and did not even find out about David until the day of his funeral. It was then too late for them to attend because they live out of state. They had a memorial service for David on the following Saturday. They loved their brother very much and grieve the loss of him. David was a very gentle and kind man. He was loved by my family and will be missed. I still cannot believe that he is gone.

Your bright smile and gentle kindness, now only able to see in a picture or within our mind. Yet your sweet generosity has left here and will always be available to find. Through those of us who Love and miss you.
Wishing you didn't have to feel that walk alone. We are wondering, pondering the why? With rivers of tears running from our eyes.
You have shown me to make the effort when questioning my friends' whimpers and sighs putting all pettiness aside. We know you didn't want to hurt us and make us cry.
For your bright smile and gentle kindness will always be carried deep within our hearts and minds.

I am David's oldest sister and would like to thank Gregg for setting up the website for David and all of David's friends who have contributed to that and to the guest book. It has helped all of us to know that David was loved and respected by so many and is missed.
My heart is broken over the loss of David and as the oldest sibling I have always felt responsible for the others, Barbara, closest in age to me and especially David (10 years younger) amd Helen, the youngest. David was my little brother - if I could use only one word to describe him, it would be "fragile." David was a very gentle person, a "lost soul." It is hard for us to imagine the unspeakable sadness of his last days and we have no doubt that he is in a better place and is no longer hurting. I like to think of him in our mother's arms, loved, comforted and understood.
I have just finished reading "Letter to a Grieving Heart", by Billy Sprague and encourage you to run - not walk - to the nearest bookstore and get a copy. It says so many of the things I am feeling and has the most beautiful pictures. I will be reading the first and last songs at David's Memorial Service.
David has embarked on an incredible journey and I wish him Godspeed.
Thank you for sharing our sorrow.

In memory of my Uncle David,
Uphill by Christina Rossetti
Does the road wind uphill all the way?
Yes, to the very end
Will the day's journey take the whole long day?
From morn to night, my friend
But is there for the night a resting place?
A roof for when the slow dark hours begin.
May not the darkness hide it from my face?
You cannot miss that inn.
Shall I meet other wayfarers at night?
Those who have gone before.
Then must I knock, or call when just in sight?
They will not keep you standing at that door.
Shall I find comfort, travel-sore and weak?
Of labor you shall find the sum.
Will there be beds for me and all who seek?
Yea, beds for all who come.
May David find a room in the many mansions God, our Father, has provided for his children. May it be a safe place that provides security, comfort and peace of mind.
David's niece, Joann

In memory of my brother, David.
David was a perfect, beloved child of God, and God welcomes home all his children. David was in many ways a lost soul, but now I release him into God's loving care. God wanted him now, He set him free. I will miss my brother, as I have mourned his loss for many years. The Lord is David's shepherd, and he will not want. God made him lie down in green pastures and led him beside the still waters. He restored David's soul, and surely goodness and loving kindness followed David all the days of his life, and he will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
