Herbst, David I. age 67. Beloved husband for 41 years of Karen (nee Elkins), loving father of Jon (Kara), Jim, Tom (Randy), proud grandfather of Rebecca, Tessa, and Hannah, dear brother of Joan Saltzman. Service Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Weinstein Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette (one blk. north of Old Orchard). Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Child and Family Services, 216 W. Jackson Blvd., #700, Chicago, IL, 60606. For info., 847-256-5700.

Dear Tom, Jim, Jon, and Mrs. Herbst,

My parents just passed along the very sad news of Mr. Herbst's passing. It's been a long time since I've had the opportunity see any of you, but I was nonetheless saddened to hear about this.
