My parents just passed along the very sad news of Mr. Herbst's passing. It's been a long time since I've had the opportunity see any of you, but I was nonetheless saddened to hear about this. I have nothing but fond memories of my time spent with the Herbst family, whether during early morning hockey carpools or late night sleepovers. My sincere sympathies to the Herbst family. I had the pleasure of working with David at Portes, Sharp and at Holleb & Coff. He was a wonderful mentor to me in my early years as a lawyer. I would bother him for his insight on all sorts of legal questions, and he was always so gracious, intelligent, and funny as well. A wonderful man and a true gentleman.
