David Harris Obituary

COWDEN -- David Allan Harris, 53, of Cowden passed away 6:46 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003) in South Shores Hospital, Detroit, Mich.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Cowden, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, with military rites. Memorials: donor's choice.

Mr. Harris was born Aug. 21, 1950, in Mattoon, the son of Gerald Allan and Frances Virginia Parmer Harris. He was a truck driver for LVL Trucking Co. of Little Rock, Ark., and co-owner of D&B Storage in Cowden. He was a member of First Christian Church, Cowden, and served in the Army during Vietnam. He married Barbara Sue Bivins on Oct. 21, 2000, in Cowden.

Surviving are his wife; father, Gerald Harris of Mission, Texas; daughters, Misty Hopkins and husband David and Jessica Fagg and husband Keith, all of Shelbyville; Michelle Harris and Brittney Harris, both of Windsor; grandchildren, Levi, Alex and Courtney Hopkins; Kyle Fagg; stepdaughters, Courtney Doty and husband Patrick and Karissa Specht, all of Cowden; stepgranddaughter, Sydney Doty; brother, Mike Harris and wife Gina of Mattoon.

He was preceded by in death by his mother and son, David Harris Jr.
