Hello, Karen. We have been praying for you and your boys ever since we heard the news that David has died. The photo in the Providence Journal was great and very reminiscent of what a full-of-life young person he was, and the article indicates that he stayed that way. We send you our love and wish you all the best in the difficult days and months ahead, and pray that you will know and trust that you walk with God.

Of all the childhood memories I have of my brother, David and me, one stands out so often in my mind that I would like to share it here.

In one of our great debates about sports and football, my little brother once informed me that if I ever wanted to be a quarterback, I would have to be able to run around our house 50 times.

What??!!!!

It was really hard, but I did it.
I pretended to faint on our front lawn to make him feel guilty about even suggesting it! It was such a hard thing to do!!

Now I see that David was a real quarterback himself, running the hardest run of his life, against his illness. Throughout his life he inspired so many others to do the Hard Thing, as he did for me so many years ago.
As he did himself.
David did the Hard Thing.
Rest in peace, dear brother.
We'll get it right next time.

Karen, I appreciate all you did for David, and the special love you both had for each other.

I am always here for you and the boys.
Love,
Ruthanne

Karen & family:
I am saddened by the news of David's death. I am blessed to have spent my summers as a camp counselor at ECC with David. Camp was special as it is all about God's love and David was an example of His precious love. We will all remain together in spirit as "Love is the energy of a steadfast love bent on creating fellowship."

Karen, Sam, James, D'Antuono family and friends,
I was so saddened to hear news of David's passing. Oddly enough.... vivid images of his infectious smile and laughter instantly filled my mind and somehow reassured me that he had found the 'peace that passes understanding' and was now with God.

David was a good christian man and a true gentleman. Never did he speak ill of others and he was always sure to hold the door for any woman in his presence. David was a dear friend to me personally and was a great friend to each of my brothers. God Bless you all as you cope with your loss.

Rest assured that the real estate he occupies in each of our hearts is his forever! Peace

The memory of you will be a happy one. You leave on afterglow of smiles, an echo whispering softly down the ways. May the tears of those who grieve be dry before the sun of happy memories leave. David you never took me to the moon. Love to all the D'antuones and to you Carolyn, Karen, Sam and James.

Karen, Sam and James:
It is an honor to have been a part of David’s life, and in my heart I know there was no better place for Alex, Tim and I to be than with all of you as we celebrated his life., and gave thanks for having been a part of it.
No greater honor than to speak to his friends and family about David’s life, to share the stories of our adventures, and to know that in each of us, we carry his spirit of life, love and family.
God blessed us with each other, so many years ago, and together we move forward, ever thankful for our countless gifts.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked for David in Mobile where he was a great friend, mentor, and boss. His caring spirit remains an inspiration in my every day life. One funny story comes to mind: his Dad came to visit him and brought a suitcase full of food. Dave said "I tried to tell him he could get Pesto sauce here but he insists on bringing his own!" then he just laughed! I'm smiling at that - I hope you are, too.
God bless,

Dear Ruth,
I am so sorry to see the loss of your brother. When I saw his name I immediately remembered him and the fun we all shared when we were in the Ferry Middle School. I loved coming to your home and all of us playing together. May the peace of God be with you at this time of your loss. I completely understand your loss at such a young age. I lost my husband in August @49 and this holiday season is very tough. God bless you and all your family. Know that if David was suffering at all, then he is now in a better place with his Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ. Love Colleen

I have such mixed emotions as i sign this guest book today, my heart aches for all who loved David and i'm so sad that I'll never see him again as I always wished i would; but on the other hand, i can't help but smile when I think of him and the joy he always radiated; David loved life and it showed. I will spend part of my holidays remembering the time we had together and will continue throughout the rest of my days to raise a glass to him on each and every July 3rd; the birthday we shared in common. My prayers are with all of you.
