I am so sorry to learn of the great loss of your father. May your fondest memories of him comfort you when you are feeling sorrow, and knowing he is finally at peace. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Growing up in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the Volstad family was very close. We always were together for different activities. When we grew up, everyone seemed to move away, start their own families and the closeness disappeared. But, the memories are always there. Tina and children -- Butch will always be remembered as a much loved cousin. He suffered so much and now is strong and whole again.

I am very sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain that you all feel right now. Just know that he was a good man and is now in peace. Remember that even though his body is gone, he still lives on through the hearts of everyone of you. Don't ever let him out of your heart and he'll never be far away. May he rest in peace and may you all accept my condalances.

The past 40 years have passed quickly but I will never forget the sailor that Patricia brought to meet us, the man who would visit with my dad..the 2 of them drinking beer by the quart bottles, band-aids and of course my Incredible Hulk.

..It takes a minute to find a special person,

an hour to appreciate them,

but then an entire life to forget them.

Thank you for all of the memories you have given your five children over the years. Sometimes we would forget the things you did for us, but we never forgot who you were to us.
