Daniel Shiavone Obituary

Mr. Daniel C. Shiavone, Sr., 84, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, September 13, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Shiavone was born on November 17, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of the late Francisco and Anna Martaccio Schiavone. He retired after 22 years as a Mechanical Engineer with Martin-Marietta. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was a member of the Isaac Walton League. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

His wife, Geraldine Curry Schiavone preceded him in death in 2001.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann Armstrong of Fairfax Station, VA and Barbara J. Schiavone of Suffolk, VA; two sons, Dr. Daniel C. Schiavone of Winchester and John F. Schiavone of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren and one sister, Josephine Bartle of Mesa, Arizona.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Stanley Krempa officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Curry Schiavone, Si Schiavone, Clint Schiavone, Daniel Schiavone, David Armstrong and Matthew Armstrong.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM at Omps Funeral Home – Amherst Chapel where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to C-Cap, Post Office Box 2112, Winchester, VA 22604.
