Daniel Parisi Obituary

Parisi, Daniel K. 63, of Chicago Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on April 18, 2016. He was a handsome, extraordinary man of brilliant insight that was largely underappreciated. More importantly, he was a very kind man with a giant heart who would do anything for his friends and family. He also was funny as heck and loved to laugh and have a good time. Together with his former wife, Susie Parisi, Dan raised three children of whom he was very proud (even Danny!). He adored his five grandsons. He spent thirty-five years in the bar business as co-owner of Sam's Food & Liquors in Lyons, and he drove a truck in later years. Big Dan was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sam and Frances Parisi, and his sister, Gail (Ed) Holcomb. Now he will be guarding over and playing tricks on his children, Daniel (Amy) Parisi, Michael (Kimberlee) Parisi, and Stephanie Parisi; his grandchildren, Henry, Paul, Daniel, Michael, and Max Parisi; his Goddaughter, Cheryl (Brian) Evoy; his siblings, Clifford Parisi, James (Darlene) Parisi, Samuel (Colleen) Parisi, Linda Parisi, Janet (Rick) Zika, and Thomas (Laura) Parisi; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Visitation: 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at Thompson and Kuenster Funeral Home, 5550 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at St. Gerald Church, 9310 S. 55th Court, Oak Lawn. In lieu of flowers or donations, please do something nice for yourself.
