I only met Dan couple of times over the years after I left Chicago. All the things that was said in this guest book says it all about him what an honorable man he was. No more pain no more suffering, freedom....With a loss of someone so special in you, community and your family's life, I'm sending warmest thoughts in caring, compassion and sympathy

I'm truely sadden to know that Dan will not be around for our deaf community. Dan will be solely missed by us. We will always remember him for his contributions he has given us withing the legal system for the deaf and hard-of-hearing people here in Chicago! Bless his heart/soul for he rests in peace.

Dear Janice,

I just learned about Dan’s death and am shocked and saddened. We’ve had so many ties; a half Jewish / half deaf couple, a lunch partner who knew all the places that policeman know, a PC database guy when he, Jean, and a small group of others were setting up CAIRS, helping him with phones, paging systems and wiring at the old CCD building, events at your house – and helping out a guy down on his luck that ended up living in your basement. There was even the short-lived “Partners of Deaf Adults” group. Through all of this, the image that keeps coming to mind is that of a passionate, generous and busy man supporting a community he joined long ago.

Dan touched the lives of so many people in a positive way, that he will be missed by a connection of people larger than we know.

Jean and my thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Janice,

I am so sad to hear of Dans passing. I had worked with him many times over the years as a Deaf advocate and in his role of interpreter. He brought much to the Deaf community and was well loved. My father Lowell respected him highly in his role of police officer (which says alot!) and will be truly sad to hear of his passing. I know he was very proud of his boys and your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
