I am finding myself a loss for words, which is rare. You were taken from this world much too soon. And, even though we lost touch over the years you always had a piece of my heart. Once someone takes residence there, they never leave. I will never forget the innocence and good times of our youth. I will remember your warm, comforting laugh, most of all. I am so glad I got an opportunity to hug you one last time, even if it was a few years ago. I was so proud of you, and for the man that you came to be. All my love, condolences, and prayers to your family. I wish you blessings of peace during this time.

"Hack", my dear you will forever be in the hearts of your friends. I will light a candle in honor of you always in the driveway, by the creek, where the magic was, and part of the circle of our hearts. And you will be missed, my friend. <3

Hack was an amazing person. I will never forget queso at the Joe Pool Marina; dancing on the rocks; holding hands in the car; reading your runes; writing poetry together; nagchampa; the Cure concert; your hair; the studded dog collar you gave me; your eyes; your nicknames for me and mine for you; the day my first son was born and you barged past the nurses to sit with me during labor (you brought cigars, your birthday cake, and the whole crew!); your laugh; the way you viewed the world, relishing it and all its anomalies, recognizing each as a unique adventure, and exploring every moment to its greatest potential; you: you were an amazing force in the world. You never stopped. You never will stop. I love you, Hack.

It's heartwarming to read the sentiments of Dan's friends and acquaintances. He touched lives wherever he went and all of us will miss his humor, wit, wisdom, intellect and big smile. He attended my wedding on June 9th and kept everyone laughing. He also did the 'Twist' with me and was so cute. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Liz (Dan's Mom)

Harris Family our prayers are with you entirely. Hack as my family and I know him was an exceptional young man. He was my daughters friend. He lived with us for a short time during her senior year when you were moving to Illinois. He was always so full of laughter and energy never a silent moment with Hack around. I loved talking to Hack and his interest in Anthropology which I also had interest. I consider Hack a son and love him dearly. WOW! Hack your Gorgeously Handsome. Will never forget when you were so daring letting the Iguana stand on your shoulder. You are gone to eternal rest and will always forever be in our hearts. We will miss you so much but one day we will meet again and continue with your adventures experiences you have had. We Love you Hack. From the Padilla-Parras Family.

He was always so encouraging of everyone's dreams and obviously enjoyed pursuing his. Sometimes he'd debate with us so much it'd be frustrating (ha) but I never wanted him to stop. He was a curious guy with a giant heart.
