Daniel Furey Obituary
Daniel J. Furey, age 67, of Sequim, WA formerly of Oak Park, IL, passed away on Saturday April 3, 2021. Beloved husband for 38 years to his devoted wife Anne nee Dalton; loving father of Patrick (Ashley) and Kevin (Allie) Furey; fond brother to Jim (Jacqueline), Mike (Maureen), and Bill (Kathleen) Furey; loving son of the late June and John J. Furey of Oak Park. Dan was a 40-year devoted and widely respected engineer and operations manager with BNSF Railroad. His love of travel brought him to his favored US destinations, recently including an Alaska cruise, of which he and Anne shared beautiful videos, pictures and stories. Dan's family and friends recall lovingly that his should have been the loudest voice in the room, but he chose rather to be that room's best "listener." He was an extraordinary story teller of his life "...riding the rails." Dan was active in local Sequim and Edmonds municipal civic administrations where he had faithfully served on various city commissions. Dan was loved by all and will be sorely missed. Funeral services are private. A memorial service will be held in Seattle at a later date. Info: 708-F-U-N-E-R-A-L.

Dan lived next door. He was a very sweet man and a good neighbor. He always greeted you with a smile and a wave. When my husband passed away in 2013, he was so kind to help me out with changing a light bulb or helping disconnect a garden hose that I couldn't handle. My family is devastated at his passing. He was much too young. Our love and heartfelt sympathy go out to dear Annie and the family. He was a good man and we were blessed to have had him with us for awhile. God bless and keep him and may eternal light shine upon him. Judy and the Gamble Family
