Dear Alan and family,
So sorry for your loss of both parents. I only had the opportunity to meet and get to know your mom. Although I did not know your dad, after reading his obituary, I must say "How lucky you were to have such great parents involved in the community, their children's and grandchildren's lives via sports and Boy Scouts". I hope you find comfort in great memories of both parents. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you recover from your loss.

I was devastated to hear of the passing of Dan. Dan was my closest friend, my Boy Scout buddy, and my hitch-hiking partner. My fondest memories of us is when we hitch-hiked thru Colorado. May he rest in Heaven with Shirley wearing all his boy scout merit badges and Orders of the Arrow. I will miss him (and Shirley) greatly. He really was my best friend!

Truly remarkable people reading about Daniel I feel as if I knew him all my life. They are what makes our country great, involvement hard work dedication and family. Sports also adds a little spice in ones life all work and no play they say. Bless them both thank you.

I knew Dan and Shirley from the Chicago Press Association which my late husband John was a member for many years. They were always very kind and helpful. My deepest sympathy to you.
