I was young when crystal passed but I remember her smile that's something I always wanted to have was a smile no matter what came my way. I loved crystal dearly and loved her very much. I remember that day and it hurt so bad because whenever she came to visit me and my family I loved spending time with her. She may have been family but she was my friend as well. I'll never forget you crystal. I love you so much.

My mom was the importaniest person in my life. She would always cheer me up when i am sad and if i had nightmares she would lay down with me until i fell asleep. And my sister Amelia is the other important person in my life as well. And so is my dad. i just wish my mom was here to do all those things that made me feel loved like giving me hugs and kisses and seeing her smile.
P.S. mom you were the preetiest girl on the planet.

I was just going through some of my old e-mails and wanted to let you all know (family and friends) that I was thinking about Crystal again today.
I truly miss working with her. She is not forgotten.
I have a "Mom" Calendar on my desk that is dear to me. I want to share today's quote; it reminds me of Crystal and others...
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Thank You for reminding me that others walk uphill just as I do. How often I forget and think that I walk the path of hardship alone. Amen."

Happy 31st birthday Crystal!
You are forever close in mind and heart... No further away than a picture,a smile or remembered phrase.
Our loved one live on in memory--So close in so many ways.
For how often does a sunset bring nostalgie thoughts to mind
Of moments that our loved one shared
In days now left behind!
How often does a flower, or crystal autumn sky
Brought golden recollections of happy days gone by!
Memory has a magic way of keeping loved ones near...
Ever close in mind and heart are the ones we hold most dear.
We miss you and love you Crystal Happy Birthday!
Love, Katrina and Mike

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We did not know that morning
That God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

For all of you who have been Crystal's co-workers, friends, and family. I thank you from the deepest part of my heart. I can't describe in words the love I felt for my daughter. There isn't a day that goes by I don't think of her or miss her. She truly was the kind of person everyone loved. I see her everyday as I care for Amelia and I hear her personality come through when I talk to Katy. I know over time the pain will lessen but she will never be far from my thoughts and the love I feel for her will never diminish.

Crystal was a tremendous help to me from her first position with FSIS in Minneapolis, always friendly, always took time to talk. Working with her in Omaha was a pleasure. No matter how stressful the environment, you could count on a smile from Crystal that brightened the day. May she rest in peace.

My heart felt sympathies go out to Crystal's family, friends and especially Katie and Amelia. Your Mom was my co-worker and friend. She had such a generous and open spirit, and was always doing for others. She always had new photos to share or stories to tell. Her office walls were covered with art and notes from her girls. When I think of her I remember her smile, her laugh, how she talked about you girls. Her eyes would light up and she just beamed. There is a line from a poem I recently read that says it all - The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides.
She will be dearly missed by all that new her.

I recall my last conversation with Crystal...it seemed like it was just yesterday. I had mentioned to her something about coming to headquarters to work and we were talking about making the transition and she said to me "I know, I had thought about it...but if you hear of something let me know" and I told her "you would not have to wait to hear of something to come to DC to work. I told her that if she came there would be a position for her"
When I look at the pictures of Crystal and her daugthers I can just imagine her here in DC getting all settled in with the girls, working and planning summer outings for the girls!!!
We never met in person, but we talked a lot on the phone and via e-mail trying to finalize meetings, get time sheets and travel forms approved. She was always pleasant and willing to assit when called upon!
It will be strange not seeing her e-mails and getting her phone calls.
Keep her memory alive for her daugthers so that they will not forget their MOM!

Crystal was my granddaughter through marriage. She was married to my grandson Mike Gagnon and they have a beautiful daughter Katy. I was never so happy when they moved from Dakota to Minnesota. We got to see Katrina through her new steps in everyday life. We welcomed them all with open arms. Crystal and I use to sit on the swing in the back yard and chat and laugh. She would call me on the spir of the moment to babysit. I loved it. She was such a pleasant person and we loved her dearly. She wasn't a leader but a follower. We were so sad when they moved to Nebraska. We didnt see much of them after that. We will always remember her as the black haired girl with the big smile. There is so much joy you get in watching children grow. God only takes the good ones. Crystal, you will always be in our prayers and thoughts. My heart goes out to all of you, at this time of sorrow, and in the days to come. I only hope that your memories of Crystal will bring you comfort as you move forward. (cherish those memories, because they are priceless)
I remember meeting Crystal for the first time in Bismark, ND right after she had Katy. She was very young, yet, a great mom and you could tell she took pride in her mothering responsibilities. I was blessed with the privilege of being Katys god mother, and what a blessing that was. Those dark brown eyes, and dark hair, and a smile that shined just like her mothers, not to mention that hearty laugh, that came deep from within. I see a lot of Crystal in each of the girls, and with being a mother myself, I know that no bond is as deep as that of a parent and a child. A special blessing to Katy, Amelia, Dave (dad) and brother. (Dave)
And of course Mike and Brenda as they jump a few tough hurdles, but also get to enjoy the mini Crystal personalities in those 2 precious girls.
Bless Crystal as she enters those pearly gates in heaven, and know that even though you can't see her, or hear her, she is always near, and will be in our hearts forever.
God Bless you all!!

I remember when you gave birth to Katy in Bismarck and making a fast trip so we could see you and this precious baby! You have been such a great joy to us and all your family! Crystal was the kind of person that when meeting her for the first time, she made you feel like she had known you forever. Anyone that stopped by to talk to her always felt that she truly cared about you had to say, whether it was a general conversation about everyday life or if it were a personal issue that someone might be experiencing.
She loved Katie and Amelia tremendously. Her eyes would glow when she talked about them. If she were to return from a vacation on a Sunday, I would have an email in my inbox on Monday with 20 pictures of her and her girls, and she would call me to make sure that I had gotten the email and reinforce how absolutely adorable Amelia and Katie's pictures were (and they always were:).
Crystal's presence and smile will be missed by everyone who worked with her. Words cannot describe how much we will miss her.

I was present when my niece Crystal was born in Fargo on that special Valentines Day in 1978. After she was born, I was blessed to have had the opportunity to spend several years watching Crystal and her brother Davy grow. Crystal spent a lot of time with our family while she was pregnant with Katy and I was blessed once again to have been present when Katy was born. Our family will always remember her smile, her thoughtfulness, her goodness, and her genuine determination to be a loving mother and caring friend. To dear sweet Crystal, we will miss you, but know we will see you in Katy and Amelias eyes, smiles, and mannerisms. Your love lives on. To my dear sister Brenda, we cannot imagine the pain you are feeling. Please know that we are here to listen, to provide comfort, to hug you, and to laugh and cry with you. You have been a wonderful mother and grandmother. I am honored to call you my sister and my daughters have been blessed to have you as their aunt. To Dave, Davy, and all other family members...we share your pain and are keeping you in our prayers...much love to you all; MaryAnn, Christina, and Deanna

I will always remember Crystal as caring and carefree; as helpful and supportive; and as a coworker always willing to lend a hand.
She will not be forgotten and will live on in our hearts and our minds.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
Crystal I miss seeing you, but know you are still here.
To Crystal's family and close friends, please accept my deepest sympathy; we have all lost a truly precious gem of a woman.
