Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Anderson and Jerry Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow immediated in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Bluff Springs Library Fund and the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund.
Mrs. Dodson was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Houston County. She graduated from Ashford High School in 1933 and was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. She taught the Ma Addison's Sunday school class at bluff Springs for over 20 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Brisbon Forrester and Nola Corbett Forrester; husband, James Vernon Dodson; five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Walter Dodson and wife Helen, Avon; two daughters, Peggy Easterwood and husband Lewis, Virginia Stewart and husband Jim, all of Avon; eight grandchildren, Larry Easterwood and wife Cindy, Dothan, Chris Easterwood and wife Dianne, Macon, Ga., Eric Easterwood and wife Lyteasa, Ashford, Rob Dodson and wife Peggy, Dothan, Michael Dodson and fiance Malinda Knight, Avon, Dianna Dodson, Avon, Jimmy Stewart and wife Kaylyn, Avon, Terri Barnes and husband Mark, Ashford; 16 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family would like to express a special thanks to caregiver Carol Jackson.
