Clinton Scow Obituary

Clinton Gardner Scow 1930 ~ 2005 Clinton Gardner Scow, born April 6, 1930 in Ely, Nevada to Clinton J. Scow and Della Gardner Scow. Passed away October 13, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gardner married Colleen Ivins October 2, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple by Marion G. Romney. Dad loved telling people he was a dairy farmer from Nevada, earning the American Farmer Award in 1951. He received the award in Kansas City, Missouri, which doubled as their honeymoon. He participated in the White Pine County Fair, showing his prize winning dairy cows and crops. He worked at K.C.C. as a locomotive engineer, drove the mail from Ely to Adaven, (Adaven is Nevada spelled backwards) Nevada. He loved roses, tomatoes, farming, travel, and making whistles from a willow branch. Gardner was proud to be left handed, and had beautiful blue eyes. He served in various positions, including the Bishopric. Gardner always made you smile. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived in Lund, Nevada, Heber City, Hurricane and Salt Lake City. He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; children, Kathleen (Chris) Jensen, Tami (Gene) Paskett, Lyle (Karen) Scow, Jay (Colleen) Scow and Lisa (Greg) Cottrell; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with three on the way; two grandchildren serving LDS Missions; two sisters, Marlene Peacock and Janath (Steve) Myers. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Samuel and one granddaughter, Victoria Scow. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, with a viewing from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.

Dear Colleen, I looked up Gardner's Obituary as soon as we returned home from Kansas City. I was so sad I wasn't able to attend the service but I know it was beautiful. We will miss Gardner and his smile and great hugs. I as so glad we lived together here in Heber with you both and always looked forward to your drives to check on us.
