Clifford Lundin Obituary

Lundin, Clifford Herbert was born to Albert and Frieda Lundin in Western Springs, Illinois on October 8, 1914. He was born on Garden Ave. and spent the rest of his life as a resident of Western Springs. He married Eileen Emmertz in 1938 and they had four children, Roger of Silverdale, WA., Russell, Terryl (Jeffrey) Benchley of Elgin, IL and Bruce of Western Springs, IL. He attended McClure Junior High School in Western Springs, Illinois and graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois in 1934, where he participated in baseball, football, basketball and track. He then graduated from Walton School of Business with a degree in accounting, and went to work as an accountant for a few years, then decided to change careers and entered the construction industry, eventually starting Lundin Roofing Company in the early 1940's. Cliff retired from Lundin Roofing Company in the early 1980's and then he and Eileen spent their time between Marco Island, Florida and Palmyra, Wisconsin. Cliff was a life member of the First United Methodist Church of Western Springs, Illinois and a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was also an avid golfer with a hole-in-one to his credit at the Eagle Country Club in Naples, Florida and played golf until he was in his 90's. Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Eileen in 1997, his parents, Albert and Frieda, his brother Stanley, his sister Mildred and is survived by one sister Martha Boecher in Indiana, his children, 17 grandchildren, six Great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his best buddy Donald Novotny, and his dearly loved dog, Missy II. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. In state on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, 11:00 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church of Western Springs, 4300 Howard Ave., Western Springs, IL 60558. Cremation, Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The First United Methodist Church of Western Springs, or The Western Springs Historical Society. Info 708-352-6500.
