Dear Aunt Marilyn, and to all my cousins and their families,
I am so sorry to learn of Uncle Clary's passing on into Eternal Life with our Lord and Savior. He has always held such a special place in my life as my Godfather. He truly lived his life and taught me how to live mine in service to God. I often fondly recall our family visits and play time. I knew he would always be there for me if I needed him. I loved him deeply and will always carry him in my heart. Godfathers are special like that. My love and prayers go to you all, may you find the joy amidst your grief that we will one day all be reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

My heart is heavy and aches with the loss of Clarence. For nearly 50 years he has been my boss, mentor, but most importantly my friend. He was a hero to many and always ready to help, he would help anyone who was in need. He will be truly missed by many, and by all of us who knew him. My condolences and prayers go out to you, Marilyn and to the entire Schawk family. May the good Lord above give you peace, strength and heal your broken hearts having lost your loved one. God Bless all of you now and always; in friendship
Fondly, Fred Marunde

I had the privilege of working with Mr. Schawk on Kedzie Avenue. He was a great man with ambition and fortitude in making his lithographic company a huge success. He hired energetic, honest people and it was a happy environment with opportunity to learn and succeed. I miss all the people I worked with; and reading about Mr. Schawk's acquisitions and the company listed in the stock market. My condolences to Mrs. Schawk and family. You were blessed with a good husband and father. God bless you.

My dearest Uncle Clary, you were a strong abiding man with whom I admired greatly. Your Strength, courage and generous compassion helped many people at home, and I'm sure around the world. I will miss hearing your distinct voice as well as seeing all you accomplished with your Sturtevant honorable service to our country, family and friends. To my aunt Marilyn and to all my cousins, I send my deepest and sincere sympathies, as well as a profound sense of peace to come over you in the days ahead. His overwhelming generosity and pride for his family, friends and affiliates was always gracious and notable. He was a faithful, noble, trustworthy and virtuous man. We were all truly blessed by your fathers presence in this world. Peace be with you...Eric Kinkel
