CARPENTER CLARENCE C. “MICHAEL”

On October 7, 2004, Age 86. Surrounded by his loving family. Of Gloucester City for his entire life. Loving husband of the late Jeanne F. (Nee Schuster). Devoted father of Sandra ( husband Robert) McKinney of Brooklawn, Patricia (husband Howard) Vaux of Gloucester City, Michael (wife Kathleen) Carpenter of Gloucester City, Barbara (husband Skip) Granstrom of Brooklawn, Kevin (wife Arlene) Carpenter of Washington Township, Terrance “Terry” (Wife Carol) Carpenter of Gloucester City, Tim (Wife Robin) Carpenter of Gloucester City, Kelly (husband Joseph) Swierczynski of Atco and Kimberly (husband Edward) Daley of Gloucester City. Beloved grandfather of 27 and great-grandfather of 13. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews. Michael was born, raised and lived his entire 86 years in Gloucester City. He was a player for the Gloucester City High School Football Team in 1934-1935. He was a original member of the Gloucester City Mustangs Football Team as well. He absolutely loved Gloucester City Sports Teams and was proud to call Gloucester City home. He served our country proudly in World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of the Townsend C. Young V.F.W. Post #3620 in Gloucester City. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Monday morning from 9 am to 11 am from the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am from Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Interment New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. No Evening Viewing. Family requests that memorial donations be made in Michael’s memory to Gloucester City High School: c/o Athletic Department: 1300 Market Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030 or Lighthouse Hospice: IV Executive Campus: Suite 101: Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
