Christine Mize Obituary

MIZE, CHRISTINE JONES, age 94, passed Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was one of nine children born and raised on Pine Mountain, Alabama attending Blount Highland School at Remlap. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mittie Jones; husband, John Mize; sisters, Ulma, Pauline and Carol; and brothers, W.R. "Dub" and Albert Jr. She is survived by her brother, Lawrence; sisters, Ardell and Audrey; was a wonderful mother to her two daughters, Carolyn Gail Palmore (Von) and Wanda Christine Bramlett (Richard); and grandmother to seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was a vibrant and healthy individual excelling in the art of quilt making. She made quilts for her children and all of her grandchildren including one for her great great-grandchild born in February of this year. On pretty days, you would usually find her outside working with her flowers or vegetables and enjoying the sunshine. She was a compassionate caregiver to her mother and was her daughter's favorite babysitter for their children. She loved to bowl and bowled in a league with her friends in Center Point. She also followed NASCAR racing especially liking Jeff Gordon. She could make really good southern food dishes and canned preserves that would melt in your mouth. She accepted Christ at an early age, being baptized at Pleasant Mountain Church on Pine Mountain and later attending Fellowship Baptist until it dissolved. Her footsteps on this earth will be truly missed. Graveside services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel.
