Christine Kaufmann Obituary
Kaufmann, who was married for five years to the American actor and painter Tony Curtis, won the Golden Globe as a teenager in 1961 for new star of the year.

Christine Marie Kaufmann was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Lengdorf, Styria, Austria. As a child, she became a ballerina at the Munich Opera. Her first film was the 1952 adaptation of "The White Horse Inn." She was 7 at the time.
She became an international star as a teenager after acting with Steve Reeves in "The Last Days of Pompeii" (1959) and with Kirk Douglas in "Town Without Pity" (1961). In 1962, she appeared in "Escape from East Berlin."
In 1963, she married Curtis, whom she had met while they were filming "Taras Bulba" (1962). They had two daughters, Alexandra and Allegra Curtis; both survive their mother. The couple divorced in 1968.
After the marriage, Kaufmann resumed her acting career, appearing in "Murders in the Rue Morgue" (1971), "Red Rings of Fear" (1978), "Day of the Idiots" (1981), "Lili Marleen" (1981), and "Lola" (1981).
Later in life, she became a successful business owner, with a line of cosmetics in Germany. She also wrote several books on health and beauty.

Taras Bulba and A Town Without Pity with Kirk Douglas and she was also in the Indie movie Bagdad Café. Ms. Kaufmann will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Christine Kaufmann. She was no doubt an amazing woman who brought love and kindness to everyone. But thankfully we are able to find comfort in Deuteronomy 7:15 where it says that God will take away sickness. Hopefully you are able to find comfort in this message.
