Chris Svenson Obituary

Chris W. Svenson, 57, St. Rt. 193 North, Denmark Twp., died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his residence.

He was born May 9, 1948 in Ashtabula, the son of Carl H. & Frances A. (Smith) Svenson and has lived in N. Kingsville & Denmark Twps. all of his life. He was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson High School and served with the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was married to the former Roberta M. Hadley on January 10, 1976 in Lancaster, OH. He was a self-employed truck driver, driving the last several years for Erskine Xpress, Inc. in Lowellville, OH.

Mr. Svenson was a member of the Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a collector of Danbury Mint Model Cars, pocket watches and hats. He was also a mechanic through his service training and was always repairing trucks and mowers. He loved being with his grandchildren.

He is the beloved husband of Roberta M. Svenson, father to Carl E. (Janet) Cunningham of N. Kingsville, Stacy A. (Kelle) Nelson of Kingsville and Craig W. Svenson of Lakeland, FL. Grandfather to Cory Cunningham, Ryan & Alexis Nelson, son to Frances A. Quickel of Denmark Twp. and brother to David L. Svenson of Denmark Twp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl H. Svenson, his step-father, Jack Quickel and a brother, Karl David Svenson in childhood.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 A. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Aletta Burkholder of the Bulah Calvary United Methodist Church and the Rev. Robert Hadley of the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterain Church officiating. Burial will be in Griggs Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-9 P. M. at the funeral home.
