I thought I would post here since I can't be with the family over the next two days to remember him. He was Uncle Ches to me, the head of the family I was lucky enough to grow up with my entire childhood. My across the street family. Much of what I remember about U. Ches involved laughter. He was always a kick to be around, and I know why he was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. I'm not able to be with you for the services, but my thoughts are with you all. To the entire family, I'm sending lots of love your way.

Dear Aunt Joyce and Family, My deepest sympathy is with you. Uncle Chester was one of my favorite people. I became part of the Kawa family over 50 years ago. So many wonderful memories over the years. If you knew Uncle Chester, then he touched you with his smile and sense of humor. He taught me how to polka when I was 19 years old at one of the wonderful Kawa weddings. He loved his precious Joyce and was truly a family man. I was so happy to see him at the Family picnic last year. I remember his warm welcoming smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Lovingly, Marie (Lindeman)

The family has my deepest condolences. Uncle Chester was that special person who loved his family and friends. I only have to think of his grin, his laugh and his love of life. We were not close in miles but we were close in our hearts. So happy to see Uncle Ches and Aunt Joyce last summer at the family reunion. A golden heart stopped beating. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Love, Karen (Warner)

Sharon: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. So very sad.

My own father is 92 and I think often of him and hope to have as much more time with him as possible, but I know the time is short.

Know that my thoughts are with you now.

Condolences and Prayer to the entire Kawa Family. We're all saddened =(( for the loss of a GREAT man.So much to say in such a small box. I've known Mr. Kawa, Chet and family for many years always a jokester. A man that wouldn't push you away never/ever. As he sat at the table after a hard days work or in his favorite chair trying to listen to the news. An occasional keep it down, go outside, go downstairs... Always had time for us kids. Lynn Marie and I caused so much chaos when we where together. We'd run down the stairs to the basement bothering Michael in some way or another. Laurie and Sharon always busy at work and never pushed us away, Nancie, the baby sister =)) we giggled, chatted stayed up sometime all hours of the night. Time sure has flown, Memories. Through all of this Chet/Joyce knew that eventually we would fall asleep did I forget to mention a couple knocks at the bedroom door. Through all these fun times and after writing this I too will miss Mr. Kawa,Chet and his smile and jokes. I'm gone from Chicago, Il. for 20+ years and calling him on his 80th Birthday and sang him STOLATZ. =))Chet will ALWAYS be A/K/A The Funny Man. Mr. Kawa may your journey to St. Peter be a joyous one, remember you always I will. Nazdrowie and a cold Piva for you awaits. Let's dance the Polka to the sound of Beer Barrel Polka. WOW a LEGACY you leave behind. Mrs. Kawa, Joyce be STRONG because that is what Chet would want<3 I LOVE YOU <3. Laurie, Sharon, Michael, Lynn and Nancie prayers are with each of YOU.Wish I could be there... the shoulder to cry on or the person to lean too... just know I'm grieving from afar. Lynn I'm a phone call away. God Bless you all and my prayers continue seeing you all through this difficult time. <3 <3 <3 Love and Friendship Always, XOXOXO (((((HUGS)))))
