Dear Phil and Jan:
We are so sorry that we couldn't make it to your Dad's funeral. We started going to him back when he was in downtown Des Plaines. One time, my sister, who was in college in the area lost a filling, and I didn't know what to do. Dr. Fijal was so kind--he put on a temporary and didn't even charge her. He said he remembered what it was like to be in college and not have any money!
I truly enjoyed hearing about his life when I wrote the story about his retirement and he left his practice in your good hands. He, and you, are in our thoughts and prayers.

How fortunate for you all to have been raised with such great love from two of the warmest people in the world. Your dad walked this earth with a quiet yet powerful presence - a true gentleman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Honey
(Now Butch, Angie, Big Chet and Simmy are again meeting for Tuesday night dinners and conversation before the hearth!)

Dr. Fijal & Jan and the entire family. My sympathies for your loss. I will never forget Dr. Fijal insisting on not using novacaine when drilling my teeth but he made me tough! :) I loved watching movies in his dentist office and pulling out a prize from the frog before I left.
We are thinking of you,

Dear Family -- My deepest condolences to all of you. I have nothing but fond, cherished memories of your dad and "Butch" sharing a great dinner your mom would prepare and good conversation. I'm sure they will all be enjoying that treat now with the Big Guy! Sending my love and prayers during this difficult time. May God keep you in the warmth of his arms!
Love, Mary
