To the Staley family: I was saddened to hear of Dr. Staley's death. I was a pathologist at Lutheran General and worked with Dr. Staley in the years just prior to his retirement. He was a brilliant surgeon, a congenial colleague and taught me much. When he retired, he allowed me to copy many of his clinical photographs, which I continue to use in my present teaching activities. Working with him was a highlight of my tenure at Lutheran General. My sincere condolences. Jerry Taxy

Dr. Staley was one of the most caring and loving doctor and friend I have ever known. On the same plain as Dr. van Elk. I worked for and with them for over 12 years and the memories are wonderful. Quite a team they made. He helped me and my family so many times. He was a wonderful man. Kathy, and the children that I never met, my thoughts and prayers are with you. We were all so lucky to have known him and for him to be a part of our lives.
