Charles Ritter Obituary

Ritter II, Charles "Chuck" 51, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 28, after a long and hard struggle with Multiple Myeloma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005, 10 a.m., at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, New Buffalo, MI, with Father James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, MI. A Celebration of Life visitation will be on Friday, from 3 to 9 p.m., at the Sommerfeld-Smith Family Funeral Home, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. The family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the St. Mary of the Lake School, New Buffalo, MI, or to Multiple Myeloma Research, 51 Locust Ave., Suite 201, New Canaan, CT 06840. Chuck was born April 1, 1954, in Michigan City, IN, to George Charles and Nadja (Melgin) Ritter. Chuck was the owner and operator of New Buffalo Realty & Yachts, Inc. On April 4, 1992, he married Marsella "Marcie" Brown. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Michigan Realtors Association, and the Southwest MI Realtors Association. Chuck was also a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, MI. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife, Marsella "Marcie"; his two daughters, Natalie and Julia; his mother, Nadja Ritter; a sister, Staci Ritter all of New Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Juliana (Tom) McEvoy of Glendale Heights, IL; nieces, nephews, a great-nephew, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his father, George Charles Ritter.
