Charles Plachy Obituary
Plachy, Charles age 86, lifelong Chicago resident passed away May 25, 2010. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Katherine Plachy as well as his sisters and their spouses Vera (James) Hruska, Mary (Joseph) Bazant, Josephine (Dwight) Gustafson and Georgiana (Charles) Kratochvil. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with Funeral Service at 4:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Growing up next door to Chucky was an adventure. He would allow me and my sister to come into his front yard to look at all the beautiful plants he grew year after year but the memory I will never forget about that yard will be Chuckys Lilly of the Valley's. He would always let me pick a bunch every spring. I think Chuck liked those alot too. I'll miss all the fine talks we had too. Shrucky you will be missed.

Chuck was not only my neighbor but he was my mentor. After watching Chuck work numerous hours on structural designs that housed counter measures for Northrop/Grumman corporation, I would be mezmorized by the quality of his technical drawings. I would put Chuck's drawings up against any CAD sysytem on the market today, He was that good. He taught me how to take pride in my workmanship. I will miss Chuck but I know he will be having a beer with my father in heaven. Rest in peace Chuck.
