Maurer Sr., Charles E. Retired Lieutenant with the Chicago Ridge Fire Department. Beloved husband of Elaine (nee Heim); loving father of Charles, Jr. (fiancee Vicky Crouse), Becky (David) Pluister, Cheryl (Bob) Zalatoris and Tom (Prudence) Maurer; cherished grandfather of 8; great-grandfather of 3; dear brother of Barbara (the late Raymond) White, brother-in-law of Dorothy (the late Stephen) Washchuck and Lorraine (Joe) Klem; fond uncle and dear friend of many. Charles was a former mid-season Stock Car Champ who raced at Soldier Field, a HAM Radio operator, an avid fisherman and a huge NASCAR fan. Visitation Friday 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Saturday, June 27, 2015 Chapel Prayers 9:15 a.m. from the Schmaedeke Funeral Home 10701 S.
