Hynes, Charles beloved husband of Kathy (nee Mahon), loving son of the late Charles and late Catherine Hynes, adored father of Laura (Arcadio) Ramirez and Matt Hynes, proud grandpa of Brendan and Emma Ramirez, caring brother of Kay (Jack) Caraher, James (Pat) Hynes, Mary Ellen (Frank) Foley and Della (Ed) Smith. Magician and funny uncle to many nieces and nephews. Resting at the FORAN FUNERAL HOME (FEELEY-BALTO FUNERAL SERVICE) 7300 W. Archer Avenue (55th St. just west of Harlem). Funeral Monday August 17, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. to St. Symphorosa Church. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. 773-239-9095.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Grandpa Charlie. I say "grandpa" because he treated me as another granchild of his. Growing up, he was like the grandpa I never had. I will never forget the memories of our walks to 7-11 for slurpees and playing whiffle baseball in the backyard with him and Brendan. Grandpa Charlie will be greatly missed.
