Dearest Helen,
I talked to Charlie what must have been a few weeks if not days before his passing. I had talked to George Silvey some months back asking if he had talked to Charlie. Yesterday, George came in to have some work done on his truck and I pulled him into my office and started to call Charlie to say hi with George present so we could both talk to him. That's when he told Charlie had passed.
I think Charlie knew how much I thought of him. I really loved that guy and I had told him that several times on the phone after you all moved. I am sad he is gone, but I feel good about where he is now. And I feel good about being his pal. He was a good friend and a wonderful doctor, and super human.
My condolences to you and your family Helen.
