CeJay Adams Obituary

Adams, Baby CeJay Jadon 6 months old, son of Calvin and Dawn Adams, Chicago natives, now living in Shelby, NC, departed this life on Monday, of complications surrounding his congenital heart condition, known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He died at Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In Babies born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, the left side of the heart is small and unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Three surgeries are required to correct the situation. About 1,000 babies are born with this condition each year, and most are boys. CeJay had his first surgery on September 10th, which allowed him to live a very healthy six months. He was at the hospital awaiting his second surgery, when he unexpectedly passed. CeJay leaves to cherish his life his mother, Dawn; his father, Calvin; his brother, Sedale; his grandmothers, Celeste Adams, Marolyn Richards and Carol Richards; his grandfather, Don Richards; his uncles, Harmon Nelson (Ruby), Derrick, Kenneth and Keith; his aunts, Jerlind DeShazer (Ken), Patricia Brown and Anita Adams; and many cousins and loving family, friends and neighbors. Viewing will be Friday, March 5, at Progressive Funeral Home, 7208 S. Stony Island Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Services will be at The First Church of Deliverance, 4315 S. Wabash Ave., on Saturday, March 6th; Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. the funeral begins at 11 a.m.

Cejay, I will always have a place for you in my heart and mind....Don't think one time that you are not missed, because all of us are missing you and loving you...I'm so glad that I was able to feed you while you visited us at your granny's house...BE SWEET AND LISTEN TO YOUR GRANDPA....LOVE YOU
