Cecile Meltzer Obituary

MELTZER--Cecile. Born to Jacob and Rebecca Meltzer on April 16th, 1937 in the Bronx, NY, Cecile Meltzer died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 25th after a long illness. A vibrant, creative woman, she will be sorely missed. Cecile was a graduate of the City College of New York, and spent most of her years working in New York City until she became a permanent resident of Woodstock, where she pursued a variety of artistic and craft endeavors and was an active member of the community since 1976. Cecile is survived by her loving and beloved identical twin sister Betty, with whom she shared her life and passions. She is also survived by her devoted sisters and brothers-in-law Miriam and Toby Olson, and Evelyn and Melvin Stark, as well as four nieces and nephews and their children. Donations in Cecile's name may be sent in behalf of her late niece (Marcia Stark Scholarship Fund, EAC Development Programs, 382 Main St., Port Washington, NY 11050). A memorial gathering is planned for Woodstock, NY in the early Spring.

Dear Betty, Miriam, Toby and Evelyn,
Please accept my sincere condolence and offer for support during this most difficult time. I would like to share a quote from the writing of Dorothee Soelle: "We can avoid much suffering and bitterness of suffering, but only for a price that is too high - ceasing to love."
Sincerely,
Janet King
