“WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.”
Dear beloved family of Kay,
I am certain that when she passed this earthly life, Kay heard these beautiful words. In the twenty-some years I’ve known her she exemplified her love and faithfulness to God through a life of service. To me personally, Kay was a loving friend, mentor and confidant. She taught me much and carried me through many adversities I faced throughout the years. I had the absolute pleasure of working with her in ministry at St. Francis of Assisi. I treasure our time spent together. She was a role model to me and I am blessed she was put on the path of my spiritual journey. My memories of her strengthen and comfort me and I pray that they do for you all as well. My heartfelt sympathies to you all.
Sincerely,
Sue Sulkowski

We met Kay at St. Francis of Assisi. We were truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Kay's family. The following scripture from Deuteronomy 10:12 -13 reminds us of Kay:. "And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I command you this day for your good?"

Our heartfelt condolences to the Cernak Family. Our fond memories of John and Kay and their family could fill volumes beginning in 1972 when John and Ed were members of the Otis Elevator team on a job site in downtown Chicago. After John passed away, we cherish our relationship with Kay that continued for many years sharing good times, laughter and tears. Kay was always ‘giving’ of herself and her time to her family, to her Church and the congregation. During our many trips up North to John & Kay’s Place in Minong, Wisconsin Kay always had her large bag of material and equipment for her current project by her side. Kay will never be forgotten.

Kay was one in a million. She worked tirelessly for the St Francis faith community. I have fond memories of working together at weddings at SFA. She was one of the most kind, spiritual women I know. RIP sweet Kay.

Kay was such an involved person at St. Francis of Assisi. Always willing to help. I could always count on her to help with the suppers that we did monthly at Daybreak Soup kitchen in Joliet. God bless her. I’m sure there is a place waiting for her in heaven!

I will miss my sister-in-law very much. She was funny, kind, and generous to everyone. Kay always had a listening ear when Joe and I called her or when we were able to visit in person during our trips to Chicago. My deep sympathies to her children and grandchildren.

kay was an amazing woman who accepted responsibility in her volunteer work at st Francis. I met her through Friends of St Francis &for a few years was her co captain for the group, went on trips together & once roomed with her (BEST PARTNER TO SHARE A ROOM! Took her sleeping pill at 10a & out she was & lucky enough to not hear my snoring. She was my leader when I joined the cleaning committee, etc. Admired her independence & love for her family and parish. I will miss her. Dave, thank you for taking such good care of your mom especially in the last couple of years.Lee
