I LOVED Casey Homel's Concertina playing & his Whole Band. I'm from Northern Wisconsin & My Dad & Mom said he played the Old/GOOD Style of Polish Polkas & Obereks & Waltzes. My Dad & Mom both born in the 1920s said Casey's music was like the old Dance Hall Polish Polkas,Obereks,& Waltzes & also the Polish Wedding dances & Barn Dances. KEEP PLAYING IN HEAVEN CASEY. Sincerely Rodney Checkalski/Weyerhaeuser,WI.

Our deepest sympathy to the Homel family on the loss of a great concertina artist. My sisters and I have fond and happy memories of days at the Brothers Two Lounge and The Den. He was always a happy-go-lucky and jovial individual. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A Polka legend now resides with the Almighty.

Casey,

I sure am one of your BIG fans and will always be.

Thank you for the times you spent talking to me and letting me be one of the people who was honored to know you and to admire your dedication to polka music.

You've joined the ranks of the great polka musicians in the heavens and I know my parents are both dancing up a storm while you're playing.

Sandy and I would like to give our deepest sympathy to Rosemary, Jim and Bob. Casey and I were good pals and musician friends. He wanted me to return to the Polka field and join him and Rosemary with the band. He was one of the great concertina musicians in the business who I had the privilege to work with. I will miss him as a friend and a customer in my barber shop. We had some good talks.... mostly about Polka music. Our condolences to the Homel and Ryba families. Max and Sandy Kawa

Rosemary & The Homel Family,
Casey's talent put him at the top of polka musicians and what a talent that was. His passing will be a great loss for the polka field and his family. May those who played alongside Casey, try to continue to carry out his amazing style. Can you just picture the jam session in Heaven! My deepest sympathy to you all and may God see you through this difficult time.

Our Love Alway's

Joseph Bialek Jr.

December 20, 2007

I'm sorry for your loss Rosemary and family. My late father Joe Bialek played trumpet along side with Casey and Stas Zombeck, Li'l Wally etc. way back in the early and mid 1960's. I remember seeing them play many times as I was growing up. I'm 57 years old now and my father been gone for 37 years now. Seems like yesterday sometimes when I think of the joy there music brought to many of us people and our Polish community. My father would also get excited when Casey would do jobs with them because they would have double trumpets and double boxs thanks to Casey's talented ways on concertina and Trumpet. They where 3 very talented musicans. Joe Bialek, Stas Zombeck and Casey Homel. Now all 3 are gone from us way to soon. My father ws only 47 when he left this earth. We buried him with his beloved Trumpet that he loved so well. Stas Zombeck been gone for a long while as well. I also remember Casey the way he was back then always a nice guy with a catchy big smile and a ton of talent. They don't make them like these guys anymore. Rest In Peace. I'm listening to one of your CD's right now and it's bringing a smile and joy to my heart at such a sad time. I think that's the way Casey would want it. No crying just smiling and remembering his great music and the man himself, a good man. Joseph Bialek Jr.
