Smith, Carrie

Carrie Delois (Lois) McIntyre Smith made her transition to glory on Thursday, July 1, 2021. She was the first child born to the union of PJ McIntyre and Lula Mae Brown on December 4, 1935, in Crystal Springs, MS.



She graduated from Bowen High School in 1955



Carrie married Hansel (Smitty) Smith in June 28, 1956. From this union they produced two sons



Carrie enjoyed playing tennis and was in a senior tennis league.



She earned a bachelor degree from Chicago State University in 1975 and a Master's Degree in social work from the University of Chicago in 1978.



She retired from Chicago Public Schools (CPS), as a social service administrator, with more than 30 years of service.



Carrie leaves behind her loving husband, her two adoring children her sisters one who preceded her in heaven; her brother-in-law,



grandchildren, her aunt her cousin, nieces and nephews, grands, great-grands and great-nieces and grand-nephews. Carrie also leaves a whole crew of special friends.
