Carolyn Covington Roberts Schuft passed away on the morning of December 23, 2024, at the age of 82 after a sudden and brief illness. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Schuft, her granddaughter T’Kiyah Reeves, and her grandson Niko Reeves. Some of her greatest joys came from being a mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, Carolyn lived all across the U.S. and had the opportunity to travel to many countries well into her seventies. She often said that one of the best experiences of her life was being up close to and feeding giraffes in Kenya. Giraffes were her favorite. She earned a Bachelors in Journalism from The University of Washington Seattle and a Masters in Community Development from the University of San Francisco. She was able to have many successful careers and continuously reinvented herself professionally. Carolyn was a lifetime learner and never stopped wanting to know more about the world around her. She was passionate about seeing the good in people. She spent many of her later years actively volunteering with the Orange County NC Dept on Aging. Being a part of her community, supporting others, and having an open heart were essential to her values. She will always be remembered for her bright spirit and her kindness. A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2025.
