Bernstein, Carole beloved daughter of the late Sadie and Sam Bernstein, dear sister of Ronald Bernstein, cherished aunt to Steve (Shawn),, Bob (Jeanette), Larry (Joyce), loving great-aunt to Samantha, Garret, Jacob, Elena, Jesse and Maria, devoted sister-in-law of Sybil Bernstein and wonderful friend to many. Services and Entombment Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Memorial Park Mausoleum, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1440 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60607. Directed by: Weinstein Funeral Home North Shore Chapel, 847-256-5700.

We sadly just found out that our first cousin, Carole, had passed in July. Carole was a kind and decent person and we treasure her memory.

i never met carole, but i knew about her because her nurse for more than 2 years, maria, is my sister. my sister would tell me wonderful stories about her. my sister would tell me how funny carole is and how much fun she was around. when i learned of her demise, i couldn't help but cry because she was a wonderful wonderful person. she was an angel on earth and she let me realize all is not bad in this world, that there is still goodness to it. we will miss you carole. i'm in the philippines, thousands of miles away from the US, but even then when you were here on earth your goodness and love reached me even if we never met. i will miss the stories my sister would tell me about you. but i know, you are shining down on us from heaven. and you will always be in my family's hearts. i love you.
