Wilk, Carol A. 61, Rockton, Illinois, died at 10:06 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born October 5, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix and Tillie (Ostrenga) Surma. Married Walter Stanley Wilk in Chicago, Illinois, on May 11, 1968. Survivors include daughter Jennifer Wilk, Aurora, Illinois; sons Aaron Michael Wilk and Adam Christopher Wilk, both of Rockton, Illinois; grandchildren Victoria and Alexander Haidinyak and Alexia and Ethan Wilk; sisters, Geraldine Janas, Lockport, Illinois and Patricia (Duke) Tomeczewski, Plainfield, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 in Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N Church St., Rockford, Illinois, with Father Kevin Butler officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois, from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, December 14, with a Scripture Service to be held at 6 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday.
