Smith, Carol J.

Carol J. Smith, nee Mahoney, age 83, beloved wife of the late James, who was the Deputy District Chief of the Chicago Fire Department; loving daughter of the late John and Marguerite Mahoney; caring sister of the late Diane Stamper and John Mahoney. Carol enjoyed her work at Shaker Advertising Agency for many years. She had many fond memories of time spent in Door County, Wisc., Florida, and as a child at the family lake house in Long Beach, Indiana. Carol and her husband, Jim were avid travelers and actively involved in the support of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Carol will be remembered lovingly by her lifelong friends Meg Harper, Arlene Tistle, Mary Lou and John Kroll, along with many friends she made throughout her life, including her most recent friends and caring staff at Sunrise Senior Living in Willowbrook, Il. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 16 th at Our Lady of Peace Church, 701 Plainfield Road, Darien. Int. Private. Arrangements entrusted to Modell Funeral Home, Darien.
