Aunt Carmen,
I will always remember your sense of dedication to family, your sweet smile, your love for your family, your amazing voice when you sang, but most of all I remember how you made me feel when I was around you, I always felt love, respect and belonging. I know you are with my Mary, Slim, Aunt Pancha, Uncle Joe, Pops Santiago, Sara, Grandma Goya and all of the family members that have gone before us. Tell them all I say hi...give them all my love and respect, until we all meet again. Rest in Peace Aunt Carmen and Family.

Today on what would have been my sister's 56th birthday,I am consoled by all the memories I have of her and me when we were children .It's unfortunate that you don't truely grasp the relationship of a true sister until they're gone.I do thank God because he blessed me with a sister who always looked out for me and deeply loved me by the sacrifices she made for me.Any success or accomplishments I have in my life would not have been possible without her support.Like George Bailey who comes to mind during this holiday season,my sister did not realize the lives she had touched and had an impact in.Through my faith I know my sister is having a glorious birthday with Christ, our mother and other loved ones who have passed on.She is probably wearing her favorite color, purple, and singing and dancing.Happy Birthday Dear Sister. With love,Lu

Carm,
A day does not go by that I don't think of you.Knowing you are in a better place brings me comfort but does not ease the pain. This year for All Soul's Day, it was emotional adding your picture with the rest of the family members who have passed on.In your memory,I played a Carole King CD that brought back memories of you singing along to.I also remembered the song you help me choose to sing for my College recital.I ate a taco for you because I remember you requested that at the end. What I'ved learned from your passing is that yesterday is a memory and tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift that is why it's called the present. Each day is a blessing and should not be taken for granted,Repair the relationships that need mending and strengthen those that are thriving. I'm glad God let you have that time to do that and you were able to go in peace. I miss you so much!!Love,Lupe

Carm,
A day does not go by that I don't think of you .Knowing you are in a better place brings me comfort but does not ease the pain. On All Soul's Day it was very emotional to add your picture to rest of the family members who have passed on. I played my Carole King CD and remembered how much you loved to sing along with those songs.I remembered how you chose a Carole King song for me to sing at my college recital. In your memory I ate a beef taco, something you didn't get to do as you had requested at the end. What I have learned from your passing is that I need to enjoy life because it definitely is short.Miss you so much,Lupe

Aunt Carmen,
As the seasons change, and the Holidays are fast approaching you will be thought of often by those who love and miss you. Your gentle touch, your warm smile, your sense of humor, your dedication, all of the things that make you ...you will be on our minds and in our hearts as we celebrate our faith. You will be remembered in our prayers this Holiday Season, and forever.

My Aunt Carmen, I will never forget you. You were a great inspiration in my life. Though we didn't talk much in the later years, I knew that I could count on you, as I did when I was a little girl. You always taught me to be strong and do what was right. I hope that I will not fail you in being the best person I can be. You taught me to always see the good in people, no matter what they have done. When ever you see me start to faulter just whisper in my ear, I'll be listening.

I am said my mannerisms, looks and ways favor the Castillo women, Grandma Goya and Aunt Carmen. I'm greatful and blessed to be catagorized with two of the most independant and strong willed indivduals in our family that have triumped the adversaties in life. We hear of the struggles and the triumps from these two women which is a big part of the Castillo family history. Kelly and I are honored and happy to have been part of the greatest fight and struggle Aunt Carmen had during her last two months and to be present during her transistion to her everlasting life with God. Thank you Aunt Carmen for the most memorable, honest and comforting conversation with Kelly and I upon your return from St. James. That conversation really made us realize how strong you will always be no matter where you are! I will always love you too Aunt Carmen! Always in my prayers!!!

P.S. Eddie is doing fine. As you requested and we promised, Kelly and I are watching him closely.

I continue to remember the good memories I have of my sister.I think of her everyday and still am trying to cope with her being gone. When I'm feeling sad I find comfort knowing my sister has received her just reward of everlasting life with Christ. All of her trials and hardships made her that more loved by Christ. All the beautiful and loving things she did guaranteed a special place with Our Father. In her we now have our special angel looking out for us and praying for us.The angels sing sweetly as you joined their choir in praising the greatness of God.Although I will miss the days not being with you ,I feel blessed for the days we had together. And When my final days come I will think of you and be happy to see you again.Love,Lu

Wow Tia, I honestly thought you'd outlive all of us because of all your "spunk." I guess in reality that's still true to this day because you are rejoicing & praising w/the Lord & I'm just a little jealous. I know I'll see you again but for now, I just thank you for all the memories I have. From my first job that I can thank you for...to all of the Sox games (seeing you talk speedy fast to Ozzie is still my fave memory @ Comiskey!)...to keeping us in line when we were younger...oh and that graduation party...that was awesome! Thanks for giving birth to my bestest bud Loli & my only little brother Eddie (I'm still gonna keep a watchful eye on him!) Until we meet again, Rest In Peace Tia! God Bless...Shannon
