Carl Kitzerow Obituary

Kitzerow, Carl W. age 74, of Lake Forest, died on June 1, 2005, of a lingering illness, beloved husband of the late Betsy (née Smith), loving father of Carl W. (Susan) Kitzerow III of Lake Bluff, Wendy K. (Charles) Nove of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer A. (Philippe) Rosak of Decatur, GA, Liz A. Kitzerow of Lake Bluff, and Catherine K. (Todd) Weston of Lake Bluff; grandfather of Kyle Lempinen, Celine Rosak, Julie and Jeffrey Kitzerow, and Kerrigan Weston. Mr. Kitzerow was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, having attended Miami University, Oxford, OH, and receiving a B.S. in Business Administration. He spent his entire career in sales and sales management, mostly in the plastics industry. He was a salesman for 3M's Reflective Products Division, a Sales Supervisor and Sales Manager for Celanese Plastics Company, a Vice President of Sales for an Evanston extruder of copolyester film and sheet products, and at age 63, formed his own manufacturer's rep business representing several different manufacturers of plastic products. In the 1970s he was responsible for assisting Eastman Chemical in establishing the first copolyester films and was nicknamed "Mr. Copolyester" in the industry. These products were introduced into the medical device packaging industry as well as the food and graphic arts industries. He was an avid gardener, an active member of the McKinlock Post 264 American Legion in Lake Forest, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, Deerpath and Sheridan Roads, Lake Forest, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2005. A reception will follow at the church. Memorials may be made to the Children's Bible Fund, First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 N. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest, IL, 60045.
