Carl Ebert Obituary

Ebert, Carl H. age 84, beloved husband of Florence (nee Sonerin), loving father of Regan, dear grandfather of Daniel Carl Ebert-Balzano and beloved friend of Barbara, fond brother of Alice (the late Robert) Berndt. Proud WWII Army Veteran of the 132 HQ 100th Infantry. While serving overseas in Central Europe and Rhineland, Carl was a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge WWII Victory Medal. Proud member of the VFW Park Ridge Post #3579. Carl was a practicing personal injury trial lawyer in Chicago for 55 years. After graduating from John Marshall Law School in 1950, Carl was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1950 and the Federal Trial Bar in 1982. Carl was a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and served on numerous committees over the years. In 1976, Carl was the Republican candidate for Cook County Circuit Court Judge. In Carl's private life he was an outstanding sportsmen, golfer, deep sea fisherman and in the early 1940's played minor league baseball prior to being drafted into the Army. Carl was also active in the Illinois Thoroughbred Horse racing industry for the past 44 years as both an owner and breeder. Visitation Thursday, 11 a.m. until time of service 1:30 p.m., at Kolbus Funeral Home, 6857 W Higgins Ave., Chicago. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Anti-Cruelty Society, 157 W. Grand Ave., Chicago, IL, 60610, would be appreciated. 773-774-3232
