Heaven's gain...Earth's loss.

There are absolutely no words that can express the hurt I'm feeling just finding out that my mentor has left this Earth nor the sorrow that I feel of the lack of connecting more often to know.

There is joy in remembering a selfless man who ADORED his family and sacrificed so much for his community, such sacrifice MOST don't know they benefited from.

I was 17 when Mr. Carl Bibbs took me under his wing at DECCA. A temp he saw having high aspirations in life, civic-minded and willing to listen. His pride for his people, his forthright, his steadfast affirmation for the youth to have stern shoulders to stand on and unapologetic for it, reminding you of it. "You must because SOMEONE did it for you!"

SORELY MISSED! The world is an empty place without such a gem.

During the memorial, one of Carl's dearest friends said Carl was BIGGER than life!

I agree! That is a succinct and most accurate description!

Head bowed. I am really missing our verbal fencing of prose. You always had brilliant and enlightening responses!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I also graduated from St. Dorothy but didn't meet Carl until years later. He had the greatest personality and wit. Hoping your wonderful memories of him will sustain you during this difficult time.

I would like to pass to Carl’s family my deepest condolences. I was a class member with Carl at St Ignatius. We would always find each other at those reunions and at the last few were able to sit and eat together. He would always tell the story that if it was not for our group friendship dating back into the early class years, he might never have enjoyed pasta and meatballs as much as he did. Rest in piece my friend
