Burton Jellison Obituary

Burton W. Jellison&bb&Burton W. Jellison, age 64, of Tonasket, Wash., formerly of Monroe, Wash., died December 30, 2000 in Everett, Wash.&pe&He was born January 28, 1936 in Monroe, Wash.&pe& Born and raised in Monroe, Burt graduated from Monroe High School in 1954. He then attended Washington State College (now WSU) in Pullman, where he earned a degree in Forestry. His early career was spent in Monroe with various timber companies. An avid outdoorsman, Burt moved to Tonasket in the mid '70s to pursue his lifelong dream of cattle ranching. He loved to be on horseback to explore and to experience the life of a true cowboy, and was a well-respected member of the State Cattleman's Association. A master skier, he taught many the mechanics and the love of the sport. Burt's enthusiasm and mastery of the things he loved, riding, skiing, dancing, reading, will live on&qf& forever in the memories of those who loved him.&pe&He was a member of the Tualco Grange and the Eagles Lodge of Tonasket.&pe&Burt is survived by his beloved mother, Alberta J. Jellison of Monroe; brother, Roy and wife Mary of Puyallup, Wash; nephew, Chris Jellison and wife Carol of Olympia, Wash; nephew, Tim Jellison and wife Laurel of Puyallup, Wash; four great-nieces, Camille, Cleo, Taylor, and Hailey; and one great-nephew, Charlie Jellison. Burt also leaves many loving and devoted friends.&pe&Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home in Monroe. Reception following at First Congregational Church. Memorial Service will be held in Tonasket on Saturday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m. (Location is yet to be determined).&pe&Memorials may be made to the Washington Juvenile Diabetes Association, Children's Hospital, or the Washington State Heart Association.
