Dear Don and Dona,

My heart just sunk when I heard about Bruce. The first memory that popped into my head was when many of Boog's classmates traipsed through your house in our prom attire after his track practice incident. I moved far away so I didn't know Bruce's wife or children. Just by reading a few comments I know that Bruce never changed. He raised his children with the same compassion and gift of time and fun as you did yours. We bid our farewell much too soon.

love & prayers,

Carol and family, One never knows what to say at times like these. There really are no words that can console the loss you must all be feeling, along with the shock of a life cut so short.
I have not seen Boog much since high school, but my husband had the pleasure and privilege of working with him on the "Hill" for many years. My memories are of a kind hearted, considerate soul, which is a consistent theme throughout these many entries. It is apparent how much he was loved and respected by so many people in so many venues. It is also quite obvious to all who were blessed to know him, what a wonderful father, coach, colleague and husband he was. That legacy will live on in his children, and the many children he coached over the years. Please accept our deepest sympathy and prayers during this most difficult time.

Mr & Mrs Erickson,
My heart goes out to all of you during this horrible chapter in your lives. Though I only grew to know Bruce during the short time that Karen and I worked together, it was easy to see how much he loved and was loved in return. I got to experience that warm heart first hand when several years ago one of my deer that he had made was stolen from our front yard at Christmas time during an Elmira College scavenger hunt. I contacted him to ask if he would be able to make another one for me some time for the next year. I was in total shock when he called within a week to say it was done already. What was even more shocking was when I went to pick 'her' up, Bruce refused to take any money, saying how sad he thought it was that someone would take her right out of our yard. I know this was only one of those million tiny steps that carried him to heaven to be with our Lord.
I pray for your peace of mind and heart. May the good Lord carry you through and lift you up during your low moments. With love ~~~

WOW, I can't believe it. Bruce was the best. My best year coaching was at EFA for Scott's senior baseball season and will never forget the help and support that Bruce gave me. He was one of those people that you never forget when you met them because they do just about everything thinking of others before themself. Bruce was one of those guys. He will be missed by so many.

Scott and Carol, and the whole Erickson family, find comfort in knowing that Bruce left this world in a lot better shape than it was in when he found it. Clearly the mark that he left on the lives of many will be his legacy that will live on forever. My most sincere and heartfelt sympathy for your loss.
