Bruce Carline Obituary

CARLINE, BRUCE GORDON, 66, of Clay Street, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital of RI. He was a retired Golf Professional for 40 years. He was the husband of the late Joy A. (Boucher) Carline.

Born in Downey, California, a son of the late James and Helen (Turgeon) Carline. He was a resident of Central Falls for the past six months, previously living in Coventry for 45 years.

Mr. Carline retired from the Washington Village Golf Club of Coventry in 2002. He was a Golf Pro at Kirkbrae Country Club of Lincoln and Metacomet Country Club of East Providence and several clubs in California. He attended the University of Southern California on a Golf Scholarship. He wa a member of the Rhode Island Golf Association and United States Golf Association. He was the winner of the Southern California Open and the Public Links Champion of RI, 1977. In his golf career he had 10 Aces.

He leaves one son, Michael A. Carline of East Providence, two daughters, Linda A. Cannata of Central Falls, Debra A. Allen of Pawtucket, one brother, Lance R. Carline of Coventry, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in the Church of St. Leo the Great, Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Parkinson Disease Assn., Inc., RI Chapter, PO Box 1265, Coventry, RI 02816 will be appreciated. Funeral arrangements by the McAloon & Kelly Funeral Home, 643 Main St., Pawtucket.
